Description
Ruda is a sans serif typeface originally developed for a specific context of use, product labels. Designed by Mariela Monsalve and Angelina Sanchez, Ruda features a very large x-height, low cap-height and open forms.
In Febraury 2020, the family has been upgraded to a variable font.
Ruda is a collaboration between Marie Monsalve and Angelina Saanchez.

Mariela Monsalve
Mariela Monsalve (Muk Monsalve) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and studied Graphic Design in FADU Universidad de Buenos Aires. She also studied there a postgraduate course on Typography (CDT – UBA). Among her typeface designs are Asul, Ruda, Oleo Script and Oleo Swash. She also develops typographical installations as part of a collective art group named DEFRENETICAS. She now lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Argentinian designer of Ruda (2012, Google Web Fonts; done with Mariela Monsalve). She won an award at Tipos Latinos 2012 for Mestiza (2011; Regular and Itálica). Mestiza was her graduation typeface at FADU-UBA. Bibliothek (2014) won an award at Tipos Latinos 2016.
