Description

BreezeSans is a humanist sans-serif typeface for the Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic writing systems designed by Dalton Maag for Samsung. It is the user interface font of the Tizen operating system (starting with Tizen 2.4) and the Samsung Galaxy Watch.

Previous versions used Tizen Sans, a separate typefce designed by Fontrix. Tizen also uses fallback BreezeSans fonts for other writing systems designed by Fontrix.

BreezeSans, the main typeface, is specifically designed for the Tizen UI since Tizen SDK 2.4. It provides excellent readability on all screen sizes, including the WVGA and HD resolutions.

BreezeSans typeface comes in light, medium, regular, and condensed variants, and each variant has thin, light, regular, medium, bold, and Num-3L types. There are no italic or oblique styles however.

Dalton Maag [Bruno Maag]

Bruno Maag

Swiss designer Bruno Maag (b. Zürich) founded Dalton Maag in 1991, and set up shop in Brixton, South London. He serves the corporate market with innovative type designs, but also has a retail font line. Ex-Monotype designer Ron Carpenter designs type for the foundry. In the past, type designers Veronika Burian worked for Dalton Maag. A graduate of the Basel School of Design, who worked at Stempel and was invitedd by Rene Kerfante to Join Monotype to start up a custom type department. After that, he set up Dalton Maag with his wife Liz Dalton. He has built the company into a 40-employee enterprise with offices in London, Boston, Brazil (where the main type designer is Fabio Luiz Haag), Vienna and Hong Kong.
