  Description

STIX fonts are OpenType Unicode fonts for Scientific, Technical, and Mathematical texts.
The STIpub companies are pleased to announce the addition of Type 1 Postscript fonts to STIX version 2.0.0. This release is available for download from the following sites: GitHub, Ctan.

The addition of Type 1 fonts provides support for versions of TeX that are limited to TFM files, Type 1 PostScript fonts, and 8-bit font encodings. Version 2.0.0 of the STIX fonts have been released in this format in hopes of easing the transition from legacy TeX engines to modern fully Unicode-compatible systems. The Type 1 version is a repackaging of the original OpenType version. While the OpenType version will continue to be updated and enhanced, no further updates are planned to the Type 1 versions of the fonts.

GitHub Migration

In conjunction with the addition of Type 1 support to STIX, version 2.0.0. the STIX project hosting platform has been migrated to GitHub (https://github.com/stipub/stixfonts/). All versions may now be downloaded from the project site. Additionally, any requests for technical assistance or bug reports can be directed to the Issues tab.
