Cyril did it, celebrates Cyrillic script from its inception to the modern-day. Cyrillic is one of the oldest and widely used written languages to have been in continuous use for over a millennium. Its invention can be credited to one man, Constantine (St Cyril).

The book is a collection of essays that chart critical moments of the Cyrillic alphabet. The first chapter, Who was Cyril, looks at the life and travels of brothers Saints Cyril and Methodius. You will discover chapters covering; Glaglotic alphabet in the chapter, Before Cyril; Moscow print yard and Ivan Fedorov; Peter I, 1710 Type Reform, The Russian Revolution, and Modern Cyrillic becoming the third official language of the Europian Union in 2007, due to Bulgaria becoming a member state.

The book was created during the final year of study for a degree in Graphic Design, for submission to the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD) student awards; I was awarded a membership.

Adi, as a mature student graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design; during his final year, he was awarded a membership with the International Society of Typographic Designers. Adi now works as a multidisciplinary Graphic Designer at a studio in the UK; however, he dedicates much of his spare time to studying Cyrillic languages.
