There are already a number of fonts in Belarus in which the authors reinterpret the work of Frantsysk Skaryna. The goal of this project was to make a fairly accurate digital reconstruction of the letters used in the books of the Bible published by the Belarusian first printer. Of course, not without tolerances: the then quality of paper, letter engraving, printing technology do not give a clear idea of the original idea of †‹вЂ‹ characters. Therefore the Skaryna 2017 font was defined as the font that Francis Skaryna would have made at the time for modern digital technology. We hope that in the modern version there is an idea of the author, the humanistic spirit of the sixteenth century and added a little precision inherent in digital sharia. In the downloaded archive you will find two versions of the font: one with archaic versions of characters, no kerning pairs (the closest to the original version) and a modern version with more familiar graphemes of some characters. Of course, we want to make the font more accurate and would be grateful for comments and suggestions. The font license allows you to use the font for free. We will be grateful for sent usage examples.
