This small hand-picked collection is a perfect sample of the vast and intricate world of traditional eastern orthodox book illumination. A contemporary of Western medieval illuminated manuscripts, this unbroken tradition goes back to the very roots of Christianity, and extends right to the present day. Having done plenty of similar artwork, I have examined the vector curves and can attest to their precision, tidiness and wide applicability.
